The Matumau Lodge
Mulu, Sarawak, Malaysia
Gunung Mulu National Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site) is situated approximately 100km east of Miri in the Malaysian state of Sarawak.
Mulu is usually reached by air although traditionally access was by longboat up the Baram, Tutoh and Melinau rivers.
The Matumau Lodge is ideally situated accommodation for visitors wishing to stay in Mulu and visit Gunung Mulu National Park:
• It is 2 minutes (or less!) on foot from Mulu airport (two flights per day)
• It is about 2km along a quiet rural road, from the Gunung Mulu National Park Headquarters
Our staff will greet you on your arrival at Mulu Airport and assist you with the transfer (on foot) to our hotel.
Many Mulu trips start with a longboat ride. You can make arrangements for your tour boat to pick you up at The Matumau on the Melinau River.
For circulating on Mulu's very small and quiet road network, we have a number of bicycles for guests' use (free of charge).
The lodge is situated at an altitude of about 65m. The climate is equatorial with little seasonal variation in temperature.
